This is a rly old pic, arround a year ago when i was working of the pirates edition of myth & legends TCG... a friend ask me for this one and... here is :P

Captain Edward Teach, aka blackbeard was a very famous and successful pirate, maybe he is the responsable of almost all the topics related to pirates, somekind of a father of the genere. As a strong man, he was wounded several times in his last fight before to die.

was arround 5 hours/wacom graphire 3/photoshop CS... as ever but i didnt remember to much about it ( a year ago T_T) :P

Well done, the 4 fuses under his hat and the 3 pistols across his chest commando style means you've done your research (accurate depiction) good work. :)

Pistols: The reason for having 3 is that a flint lock pistol (or musket) can only fire 1 shot (unless its an over, under one:[link] essientaillly 2 barrels that manually rotate after each shot.) which means reloading takes 60 seconds if your good. And in the heat of battle you most likely won't be reloading. Which is why flint locks were used during boarding a ship, Yarrrr was raiding or as a last resort.

Pirates were supposed to be mean and nasty, so the fuses were to I handle that, make Edward Teach (Blackbeard) look more menacing as the period picture I provided demonstrates. I think it was his own "pirate style" considering I can't find any record of other pirates doing it.

Hope this helped, if not try to wiki black beard. It's an unreliable source, but should give u a brief over view of everything yarrrr!
