Hattori Hanzō (服部 半蔵?, 1542 – December 23, 1596), also known as Hattori Masanari (服部 正成, the son of Hattori Yasunaga, was a famous Iga-ryu ninja jonin of the Sengoku era.

Hanzō was born a vassal of the Matsudaira (later Tokugawa) clan, and served Tokugawa Ieyasu; he would later earn the nickname Oni-Hanzō (鬼半蔵, Devil Hanzō?) because of the fearless tactics he displayed in his operations. His nickname distinguishes him from another Tokugawa samurai, Watanabe Hanzō, called Yari-Hanzō (槍半蔵, Spear Hanzō.

about the kunoichi:
Mochizuki Chiyome (望月 千代女 was a Japanese woman of the 16th century, rumoured to be originally from the Kōga clan, was the wife of a samurai warlord from Shinano who was killed in the battle of Kawanakajima. She was left in the care of the daimyo Takeda Shingen. He gave her an important mission: to recruit women and create an underground network of female ninja (kunoichi). Takeda’s plan was to have fully trained female operatives who could act as subversive agents used to gather information and deliver coded messages to his allies. Chiyome was the best candidate for this, since she came from a long line of Kōga ninja. She recruited several young women who were recently orphaned, prostitutes or victims of the civil wars of Sengoku period. She also recruited girls who were either lost or abandoned. Many people believed that she was helping these women, and give them an opportunity to start up a new life. But in reality, they were trained to become highly efficient information gatherers, seductresses, messengers and when necessary, assassins.
