HEY! HAPPY THANKSGIVING GUYS!! :D

And, well, the chat started pretty well, About the new SF4 and the new characthers and about the new released screens of FFXIII and there he started to complain about the news FF.

Acording to him:
"since FFVII the charas are more feminine , for example, Cloud: Blond, green/bluish eyes, thin and emo, do you know what he needs to be a real hero?MUSCLES, A MANLY BEARD OR MUSTACHES, ASSASSIN EYES, A MORE BIGGER SWORD, HE TRAVEL SO HIS CLOTHS NEEDS TO BE DIRTY, HE FIGHT, SO HIS CLOTHS MUST BE STAINED WITH BLOOD, POUCHES TO CARRY THE MATERIA AND KILL SEPHIROTH WHIT HIS OWN HANDS LIKE A MAN"

me: dude that looks like a nightmare to me. O_o
I love the work of Amano, Yoshida and of course Nomura, I think each one give the best for FF (my favorites: FFV-VI-VII-IX-X-tactics) But let me show you how could look your "manly cloud"
.................

I still preffer the Cloud of the Original FFVII, more than the one of the movie or his later apparitions :p
Hey Square-Enix guys!!! I still waiting for a remake, that game was good, Manly tears when Aeris... well, U now, dont want to spoil the game :p

Just 4 fun and part of "manly series"

Ugh, I'll never get the people that bitch about rpg characters being "too androgynous". "Manly" is overrated. Why can't you kick ass and be attractive as well? Not every hero needs to look like a viking, and as for muscles you can be toned without being bulked. Strength can lie equal parts in skill and technique than brute force; I've seen an little eight year old kid kick a college jock's ass because the kid knew how to fight properly. It's the same kind of people who bitch about female heroes in games. Girls can kick every bit as much ass as men and they don't have to look butch to get there. Slender people are generally more flexible and agile and thus can often nail techniques better so long as they have the balance. For me, it's more about aesthetics; if I'm going to be staring at the same characters for hours, I want them to be pretty characters. All that said though; the drawing's damn good and I love the tattoo.

Late reply but...
you lost me at "why can't you kick ass and be attractive as well?"

attractiveness is a subjective term, what you are attracted to might not be attractive to other people, sorry but androgynous guys are a turn off for me personally, and I *THINK* bishie look is overrated and undesirable, but to each their own.

"Not every hero needs to look like a viking, and as for muscles you can be toned without being bulked. Strength can lie equal parts in skill and technique than brute force; I've seen an little eight year old kid kick a college jock's ass because the kid knew how to fight properly."

I think what you are referring to also has to do with the fact that most of those characters draw their strength from "magic" rather than actual strength, because it looks improbable when a twinky guy long hair over one eye lifts an oversized blade with one arm.

"It's the same kind of people who bitch about female heroes in games. Girls can kick every bit as much ass as men and they don't have to look butch to get there."

Okay besides the awful sweeping generalization you did I'll just point out that there is nothing more fun than watching a femme fatale kick butt. That said, biology did grant men the advantage in the physical department, and that is ok, i love being thrown around by a big man, but he will still need my permission because we are equal.

"Slender people are generally more flexible and agile and thus can often nail techniques better so long as they have the balance."

Fair point but flexibility and agility don't do much when you have to move a giant boulder out of the way

"For me, it's more about aesthetics; if I'm going to be staring at the same characters for hours, I want them to be pretty characters."

Well at least here you clarified that this is simply your taste, but again I have to counter that character aesthetics are a matter of personal taste and not some global absolute. For example I prefer the really manly men and the really femenine women. That being said i find it boring when every guy and girl in a game is the same. Variety and diversity is the best way to make a cast in a video game in my opinion, something some of those RPG series seem to sometimes skip and just flood it with androgynous guys and magical girls. It's nice to have a bit of everything, because well...EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT! that way I can pick who to focus on

"All that said though; the drawing's damn good and I love the tattoo."

agreed :)
