Some night ago I was working with the TV on the background. I catch this film on Netflix, The Secret of NIMH. It was one of my favorite movies when i was a kid. I remember the awesome animation, the fantastic work in backgrounds and the nice characters, Don Bluth is a genius and one of my heroes. I remember to spent a lot of time as a kid with the VHS watching this movies and drawing. I love the dark tone of 80´s films for kids.
Oh, well, I cant avoid do a quick 5 minutes sketch of the lovely Mrs Brisby. I hope to do a full color image of this sometime
Oh! you never watched this film? I recommend it to you [link]
Whoa. I really loved that you have left it unfinished so far; I think it really captures the warm, organic sketchiness of Bluth's animation. His stint with Disney was amazing, too. This was one of the movies that really blew open my imagination as a kid, along with Labyrinth, the Dark Crystal, and Willow... etc. Thanks for sharing!
Actually, I can think of a song that could have be used as a promotional tie in. They'd probably edit it so that it would only go from 1:25 to 6:03 in the tie-in version, but I still think you should listen to "Survival" by Yes and see if it would be appropriate for The Secret of NIMH. [link]
